Hope Farm

Plenty to Hope for...

Much to Hope for....
At Hope Farm we offer superb bed and breakfast guest accommodation in the finest surroundings. We pride ourselves in offering the luxury of a splendid country house and tranquil grounds. We encourage our guests to come and go as they please, to feel relaxed and ‘at home’, enjoying every aspect of their stay. Our bedrooms are extremely spacious and furnished to the highest standard, crisp cotton bed linen and fresh flowers plus attention to detail to ensure your stay with us is as comfortable as possible; each room has its own full sized ensuite bathroom, mini fridges and facilities to make your own hot drinks.

We serve only homemade food cooked (with passion) on our Aga and made from local produce at Hope Farm. Enjoy a freshly made Devon tea on arrival served either in your bedroom, the drawing room or on the terrace, the scones are a must! An evening meal is available if ordered in advance and can be served between 5p.m. and 8p.m. We offer either a two or thee course meal, bring your own wine! The portions are plentiful but we cater for the smaller appetite too.

We boast our own Nature Trail and would encourage you to sample the abundance of wildlife and flowers along its path which meanders along side the river claw. Otters, badgers and deer, both Red and Roe live freely here. We have the very rare Marsh fritillary butterflies alighting on Sheep’s-bit scabious in fields of culm grass heaving with interest. Culm grass is rarer than tropical forests world wide and we do everything we can to maintain this endangered species and the wildlife that depends upon it. There is a hide in the pond field where you can sit and listen to the sounds of nature or benches along the route for you to sit a while and savour the moment.

We breed and keep Alpacas in some fields, amazing animals, and together with their young, (crias) will delight you at every opportunity. These gentle animals, native of Peru are not bred for their meat and are shorn once a year for their fleeces. They must be the most ‘watchable’ of all creatures as we can still ‘lose’ hours simply by their fascination.

Beautiful countryside viewsAnyone staying here is invited to use the local Golf courses at Holsworthy and Lauceston for half price green fees. This is particularly good value for couples as it represents a buy one get one free offer. You don’t have to be member of any golf course or an experienced player to be eligible, why not give it a try?

For those of you who wish you could ride out on your favourite horse and share the experience with a loved companion we offer stabling and/or grazing facilities. We provide the hay, and fresh water, all you have to provide is any additional feed. There is full admittance to anywhere on the farm and miles of lanes, bridle paths and forests immediately on our doorstep.

Set in 100 acres of beautiful countryside, Hope Farm is the ideal backdrop for your Devon experience. Cornwall, Exmoor or Dartmoor, sandy beaches or walking and cycling routes and Holsworthy Golf club are easily accessible. There is a lot to hope for at Hope Farm
